I know some of you use foam and MDF etc for cakes and having watched Ace of Cakes (another thing I am addicted to apart from here lol) I have a question
They often make a cake, put it on wood and then cover the wood with RI and smooth or make to look like the sea etc but what is under the cake to stop it touching the wood???

The cake is on a cardboard cake circle.

You always have your cake boards (circles... as mentioned) under your prepared cake so that is the barrier between both....
