My local pastry instructor gave me a recipe for this icing. I don't take classes but they still throw little lessons my way here and there if I ask enough questions ( icon_wink.gif )

Anyway, last night a whipped up a batch hoping to practice some techniques (namely the rope border and my roses) but the instructions the instructor wrote down are a little bit off. It says it takes a tsp of salt, and 2 tsp of flavor but it doesn't tell me when to put the salt in. I usually default to putting it in with the shortening but last night I forgot about it and had already started adding sugar when I remembered.

Now my icing has a very distinct taste of salt to it. Is this because I put it in too late? Is there any way to fix it?
