Love decorating, still new, love to learn. The only buttercream recipe that I've dealt with is the good ol' Wilton buttercream I've learned in the class. Great for decorating, super sweet. I've added "IndyDebi's Crisco-Based Buttercream" to my faves to try (had no clue what Dream Whip was - but I found it!icon_smile.gif And I've tackled an MMF recipe I've found on here - just consisting of the 'mallows and some ps. Could any of you wonderfull CC'ers share what your favorites are when it comes to a crusting buttercream? Your favorite fondant to put on a cake? Favorite fondant to use for molding? I'd appreciate it! Thanks in advance! icon_smile.gif

My favorite crusting buttercream:

(It is decorator's buttercream and sweet - but flavor it up good. I add 1-1/2 tspn. dbl-strength madagascar vanilla, 1/2 tspn. almond, 1/2 tspn. butter flavor. If you still think it's too sweet - try adding a pinch or two of popcorn salt).

I use this MMF:

I also use her chocolate version.

Don't do much modelling, but I usually mix 1/2 fondant + 1/2 gumpaste for figures.
