Let me first apologize if this has been asked before. I went through as many posts as I could and I didn't see one with this particular issue.
I made my buttercream the other day and while it was nice and smooth and fluffy with a great texture in the bowl, once its sits for a little while its gets gritty. This seems to always happen to me.
What am I doing wrong? And am I the only one who has this problem?

it gets gritty on the cake or in the bowl? what recipe are you using?
