I would like to make a cake ball cake and thought it would be a good idea to have a cone to support it. Can I get an idea from people what they use for this or do you tend to make a solid pile of cake balls and if so, how do you stick them together?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi ....well that would be me as being one of them. I used the big styro. from Michaels and it took me close to 200 cake balls!!!!

I had never made cake balls, and when I tried, I just cant work with melted choc. I SURE WISH I COULD, cause the customer loved her cake and now wants another cake ball this yr in April!!!!! HELP!!!!!...lol

I made mine in buttercream, let them dry and then I got those long toothpicks and inserted it into the cakeball....BEFORE that I got the cone ready, I wrapped it in saran wrap real good and then I got a toothpick and poked the holes into the cone FIRST...so all I had to do is place the toothpick with the cake ball in the hole...POST A PIC. WHEN YOU DO YOURS....

When you go see mine in my photos, please leave a comment...THANKS!
