Hi all, im new to cake central and new to using rice krispy treats when decorating so i was wondering how do you get it smooth after its covered with fondant,do you frost it before? I tried before after frosting it and the fondant wouldnt stick to the icing.can someone please help,im dying to expand my decorating techniques so..thanks new cake central family
I mash mine until they are crushed in tiny pieces which helps with the smoothness. I also roll my fondant a little thicker than normal. I just brush on a little piping gel to get the fondant to stick.
When working with RKT I condense into the shape as much as I can and wait until it hardens. To get it smooth I use a knife and carve the shape smooth. After that I use a little BC to fill in the cracks and freeze it up a bit. I cover with fondant the minute I take it out of the freezer.
