hi, when you make a regular 9 in. cake how many layers do use, 2 seems pretty low to me. and just wondering, if you make say a 16 in cake, say for the bottom of a wedding cake how many layers of cake , and do you use a 3 inch cake. thank you

I use two 2 inch layers of cake...once it has the buttercream on it its not that low...for me its about 4 to 41/2 inches tall

Here's another one for usinhg two 2" layers per tier no matter what size the round is - well except for 6"ers - those look best to me being only 3" tall.
