We have the flyers in our store here in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. I think it just may take a bit longer to get to some stores than others.
It says on Fondarific's website that Duff uses them. Is this not true? I know Cakeboss uses Satin Ice though. Now I am really confused.
I have another question too. Other than the wonderfulness of being able to buy it locally, has anyone noticed it is still more expensive that Fondarific. 2lbs of Fondarific is right at 14.00 and Duff's was 18.00. I know that isn't a lot but still. What do you guys think.

I've heard Duff talk about Fondarific on his show so he must use it. He did use satin ice but I'm guessing as he's found out about some of the newer and tastier products, like Fondarific, he's venturing out just like all of us do.
I noticed that his 2 lb. container of rolled fondant is $9.00 on one site and $17 on another and it's the same size container with the exact same product inside!!! ![]()
Which site did you find it for 9.00? I really want to order some to try. Thanks!
All of this is really really interesting. I am a Wilton Method Instructor and until recently Wilton was the only way at Micheals. Wow, I know Cricut is coming out with the Cake Cricut and was wondering what Wilton is going to do about that at Michaels and everywhere else. Now there will be other Fondant available and competeing with Wilton? OMG whats the world coming too? Now Wilton will have to change their fondant recipe, let's hope. I've already noticed another company providing piping bags and other plastic food storage bags at Michaels. Dont get me wrong, I love most Wilton Product. But till recently, the home consumer was quite limited in what was easliy available to them. Re: Satin Ice and Fondx, Most pro's use Satin Ice but Fondx is really moving in to take market share. These cake shows are both good and bad. They are good in educating the consumer to what the possibilities are however, theyre also making people think they can do it too. VERY INTERESTING !!!!!

I was wondering this very thing myself when I saw the Duff flyer. I am also a WMI and wondering how interesting that will be going forward teaching classes. LOL. As for the cake cricut - I get asked about that machine everytime I teach a class. Not sure if Michael's will carry it but my manager got a memo that it exists so anything is possible.
Went back to Michael's today and picked up the Black fondant, I got it for $9 with my 50% off coupon. I may crack the seal and see what it's like tomorrow, if it's any good I will go back and buy the red for $9 also cause I got another 50% coupon! Yay me!
All his stuff that he's selling now can be found also on the website that's blocked from here...
(mod edited for content).
This website doesn't exist. I typed in (mod edited) . com (w/o the spaces) and it doesn't exist.
A couple of the posts in this thread mentioned rolled *buttercream* fondant. Are you talking about rolled buttercream or rolled fondant? Rolled fondant I like; rolled buttercream I think is the nastiest product on earth, possibly worse than Wilton fondant.
I didn't know there could be anything that taste worse then Wilton Fondant. Is that even possible?
I checked on global sugar art.com and could not find anything of his. I really want to try some but not spend the 18.00. I have another question too. Maybe this should be for another board, but what is everyone's favorite.
MMF
Fondx
Fondarific
Duff (if you have experience with it)
Satin Ice
or Wilton
Yep sure do. He doesn't make the fondant just gets to attach his name to it and get royalties for sales of it. The fondant maker (most likely fondarific - just a guess due to the buttercream flavor and the lemon flavor for the fondants) gets the benefit of more sales of their product as well. There are a lot of people who will buy it just because his face is on it. Just like if Cake Boss put out products people would grab them up just because he was pictured on it. Subliminally lets people think they can make great things if they use this product.
I was at Michaels today (Phoenix Arizona) and didn't see any Duff stuff. ![]()
I too agree that it sounds like a total gimmick, but if it's manufactured by a legitimate comany (say...Satin Ice for example) then it gives those of us who don't buy in bulk a way to get some decent fondant for a good price (i.e. with that 40% off coupon). Satin Ice is always $16-18 in my local cake shops for a mere 2lbs, and online it's the same once shipping is added.
I am very interested to know what people think about it, even though it's not available here yet either.
Although I must admit, I would feel like a total cheesebag buying it ![]()

My feelings exactly!! It would be worth to be able to buy it locally (especially with a coupon!) if it tastes good. But I may send my kids in to buy it.. Can't wait to hear the reviews!
Of course it is, It's all marketing. The fondant products are all available else where. Let us not forget that Duff was that last one to know that fondant came pre-colored.
::chuckle::
Let's also remember that a high proportion of the cakes we see on TV from CCC are not cake. They're fondant covered boards and styro. You get a pass for covering RKT - at least they're food.
I'm not saying the crew isn't talented - they are fantastically talented, but a cake just doesn't always have much cake in it.
We don't have any Duff stuff here....I would buy the colored fondant though with a coupon only because it would be cheap.
Made the mistake of getting disposable decorating bags from my bakery supply and they were AWFUL...much better to use a coupon and buy the large 100 pc box from the Wilton stuff. I don't like much of their stuff but their disposable bags are good!
On the other hand, Martha Stewart has a TON of products out there. Not sure anyone thinks they can buy her stuff and automatically scrapbook or decorate to the degree that she does.
Good point.
I probably won't buy any of this new Duff stuff, mainly because I have an aversion to celebrity endorsed products.
I think MOST people think by buying Martha Stweart crafts think "I can do it easy now too".
And I think most people will feel the same way using Duff's products as well.
All gimmick for the masses. Duff went out like a straight beeyotch.
Exactly. Cause now they have the stuff that Duff "uses" and of course "I'll be able to decorate like him". Knock yourself out.
You guys don't find the whole Duff line of products to be something of a gimmick?
Yeah, I find it interesting that he's talking about fondarific around the same time that he starts selling it. It's called a cross-promotional tie-in.
@ Leah s,
I know right ? Did you see the motorcycle cake, By the time they built that thing, they may well have bought the bike, removed the seat, and motor and just added cake. Why re-invent the wheel. As for the Duff stuff.
People, dont drink the cool-aid.
