How do I do this corndog?

I'm assuming that it's RKT's but how do you get the RKT's so smooth that the texture doesn't show through the fondant?
Also, How far in advance can you make these?
And last, sorry icon_redface.gif Ho do you prevent the weight of the corndog from tearing out of the cake?

TIA for the help!!!

If you smoosh them real good then they can be really smooth. Also you would want to ice them then cover with fondant..... or you could use modeling chocolate.

I've heard of people putting them thru a food processor to smooth them out. Then mix the crumbs w/fondant or chocolate.

I just had to do a cake with corn dogs and tator tots. I used fondant and shaped it like a corn dog. It wasn't too heavy for the stick or the cake.

Thanks for all the info. I'm a little worried about this cake because there are a lot of things about it that are new to me, so I'm kinda biting off a lot for my skill level.

I'm off to go practice making fondant corndogs icon_biggrin.gif
