I've seen some beautiful belly cakes on here, but they are all done in fondant. I couldn't find any belly cakes in the gallery that were made of buttercream. Has anyone done one in buttercream? I would love to hear from you if you have. I'm curious how it turned out and if you would make it that way again. Thanks!

I've done them with the sheet cake underneath in buttercream. You just have to be carefull when you put the belly and boobs on not to mess up the frosting. Just like stacking any buttercream cake. I don't see how you could do the dress in buttercream. Candy clay maybe if you really don't want use fondant.
