Hi!! I want to make figures like the cake attached (maybe more 3-D). Should I use gumpaste together with the fondant? And if so, what's the ratio?

Thanks!!

Hi Rosiecast
I usually use fondant for figurines because you have more time to play around with it. Gumpaste dries very fast, If the figurines are thicker then I might use a 50 / 50 mix of fondant and gumpaste so it wouldn't take so long to dry. I use gumpaste for flowers and want the petals as thin as possible so they look real and dry quickly. This is what I do HTH. icon_smile.gif

a mix of fondant and gumpaste should work fine... 50/50 ratio. For anything really long and thin (and still wanting to stand up) id lean more toward using straight gumpaste

But for that size a 50/50 mix should work icon_wink.gif

Good luck!
