I have an order for a cake with ladybugs. The customer wants a noncrusting buttercream icing. I will be making the ladybugs out of fondant. The bugs have a bit of weight to them and I am afraid they might slide down the sides. Any advise on how to attach/secure them?????????

You can add a fondant 'pin' to your ladybugs by forming a shape similar to a golf tee, then glue it to the back of the ladybug with gum glue, melted chocolate or royal icing. Let dry. Then, you can poke your ladybugs onto the cake.
