As far as wrapping ribbon on the bottom of each tier-should this be done before the cake is assembled, or after? I'm planning on using a couple of dabs of royal icing to adhere the ribbon, will this work? TIA!

Just delivered one today and I wrap after assembly. Royal icing should work...

RI is what I use...as far as when to put it on...I think that all depends on how many tiers you have and what other decorations you plan to put on the cake as well.

I use royal as well, works great. Just make sure you are using a ribbon that will hug the cake well. I once had a bride supply me with a ribbon.... wavy.... not good. You can either put it on at home or on site.
