I am making a Quinceniera cake with a gumpaste girl on top wearing a strapless white gown. I was hoping to mimic the picture she gave me. The top layer of the dress has toulle. Any ideas how I might accomplish this? Thanks for any suggestions. icon_biggrin.gif

The only thing that I can think of would be to roll some gumpaste super thin. And then take some real tulle and press it into the gumpaste. Hopefully, it will transfer some of the pattern.

You could do gum paste or fondant then do some sort of textured pattern on top of to transfer it over. Sugar veil might work also, though sugar veil sometimes can be tricky to use some days it works while others it doesn't want to.
