Dark Blood Red Brown Color...almost Black In Picture

okay...so I got the order for this 3D clutch purse...The color the customer tells me is a blood red brown.The picture on the web looks black.I told her I would try and achieve the color but man ...How do I make that color..It's gonna look gross and I am not wasting fondant to try and get the color right.
Anyone make that color before..What did you use?

If you use too much Americolor super red when you're painting on fondant, it darkens to kind of a brownish dried blood color when it dries.

Yeah I'm gonna start with red but do I add brown?
