I am starting to branch out in my world of cake baking. I am now onto using cake mix extender recipes. The one I'm using calls for sour cream, however I'm not to keen on the taste it left in the red velvet cake i last made. Can I use yogurt intead of the sour cream ? If so, is the amount still the same?

its great, i used it for my sons first birthday and used yoghurt.. not s.cream. and it was really yum! just match the yoghurt flavour with your cake. =)

Yes yogurt and sour cream are interchangable in the extender recipes. I use what ever I have on hand. I do the same for a banana bar recipe I have and have never noticed a difference between the two.
