What would be the easiest way to make a tye dye effect on buttercream. (without a airbrush) I made one that I hand painted but then I couldnt get it to blend very well.

I'm not sure, I'd have to experiment....but I'd say ice the cake in a base color (something bright) and then pipe other colors on top, smoothing it with a small spatula after each color addition.

On my tye dye cake I put lines of different colored buttercream and took a knife and drug it through, let it crust and smoothed it out.
