Ok I have a wedding cake I'm doing for next weekend and it's been really trying for me because it is not like anything I've ever done. It is four heart cakes (14", 12", 10" and 8") and decorated very simple, no problem so far, but the problem is as follows. It is a separated set-up with each layer having it's own glass stand, the bride wants me to use these, however the clear tops to these stands is slightly smaller than each heart cake so that you cannot see the plate around the cake. My fear is in the parts of the cake that are not supported. I plan to double my cake cardboard, but do you think that will be sturdy enough? If not what can I use that you will not be able to see it? I appreciate any help you can give me. I'm sure I'm just being ridiculous and not thinking right, but I just can't figure it out.

Put each cake on a cake drum.
