Hello All,
I am new to this site and this is my first post. My daughter wants this cake for her wedding and I am wondering if anyone knows how it was done. I did read the other pleating thread but it seems as though this cake is chocolate not fondant and the pleats are not as "thick" looking... a much more refined look over all.
Thanks in advance for any help!

To me it looks as though it is chocolate fondant and the pleats are actually strips of fondant made by a clay gun to get them so uniform. Interested to see what others think.

im leaning the same way as Briarview. the lines and shadows arent what you would expect if it was like inch wide strips of fondant overlaid. i think its more like thin lines of fondant over the top of the cake.

I believe they are strips of fondant with one sided folded under to create the appearance of a line. I did this in a class recently.
