Can I Add Lorann Oil To Royal Icing?

Having a moment here. Can I add Lorann oils to my royal icing or will it not set?

It won't set...it will probably become very soupy. The high concentration of oil will break it down. Try using regular extract. I know that the flavor is not as potent but it won't break down your RI.

yes, just use favorite flavoring... instead of some of the water..

I have used Lorann oils in cakes, cookies, RI, BC, SMBC and even in cheese cake and have never has a problem.

My royal icing has set up no problem...just be careful cause it is very potent so a little will go a long way icon_smile.gif

I've added one or two drops to my RI and it was fine. It's very concentrated and you don't need as much as you would if you were using a regular extract.

I use Cotton Candy oil in my RI all the time for cookies...Tastes Yummy!

Thanks ladies! I went with the lorann marshmallow- it did set, but it seemed to take a bit longer. I'm glad I only added it to part of the batch! icon_biggrin.gif
