I am making sugar cookies for Valentines Day. As I was looking a some pictures, I saw cookies decorated in royal icing but also had shaped hearts dragged inside the icing. How do I do that? I think one person said that it was her first attempt at royal icing flooding!?!?!

Thanks for your help icon_biggrin.gif

Outline your cookie.
Flood inside the outline.
Meanwhile have a different color royal icing, in comparison to your flooding color, ready (it is better if it has the same consistency).
Put dots in your flooded cookie. How many, how close to each other or in what order you put the dots will determine the last design of your cookie.
Get a toothpick and very gentle and careful starting from the middle area of one dot sweep(?) the toothpick from one dot to another until you go through all the dots, it is important to do this in one motion.
You will have nice heart design.
Hope it helps.
