I am making my first red velvet cake for Valentine's Day this weekend. I know some people do a cream cheese frosting. Any other good combinations?

I will be covering the cake in MMF.

thanks!

Lemon cream cheese is absolutely awesome with Red Velvet!!! Just add a little lemon extract to your regular cream cheese frosting recipe (if you don't have one already, check out the recipe section on www.pinkcakebox.com - that's the one that I love!).

I think the traditional icing is cream cheese, but I also like to add melted chocolate to my cream cheese when I pair it with red velvet.

Another great addition to red velvet is cherry pie filling. My mom piles it on top of the cake and chills the whole thing overnight. YUM!

Thank you. I found a white chocolate cream cheese frosting recipe I am going to try. Do you think it will taste alright with MMF?
