I've used it for strings (guitar strings, strings for a sports net), rope, hair, thick even bands (for the thicker parts of my volleyball net), tubular pieces to put in a bead mold etc... It makes the piece uniform and even. I"m sure there are a zillion more uses that I haven't even discovered yet. But I think this is an indispensible tool for cake decorating. I bought a cheap clay gun at the craft store and knew it was useless right away. I then purchased the "Su*gar craft gun" and I absolutely LOVE it! I paid $60 Canadian at Cake Mischief. Totally worth every penny!

Mine is most used for tassels at graduation. Also, shoe laces for my baby shower cakes. Hair for figurines. Bows for small cakes or cookies.

Anything i need a uniform string for i use the clay gun.
