how far in advance can it be made....I mean rkt in the box are on the shelves for a long time before people buy them, so home made should last a good long time right?

ok then I guess I will have to wait....I am making a purse for on a cake and thought since it was going to be covered in fondant that it would be ok to do ahead...thanks
