Im just starting to learn gumpaste flowers. What is the best way to learn? I bought the Wilton book and cutter set, but the book gives really horrible directions and pictures. Any tips would be great

Rylan has a thread of many different flower tutorials that have some great information.

My advice is to search the web, there are many great you tube vidoes as well.

One thing I have learned is that no two people do things the exact same way so play around until you find the way that works best for you, even if it is a cross between what others do.

Nic Lodge has some great vidoes and instructions as do some other greats out there. icon_smile.gif

What kind of flower are you wanting to do?

if you want books, alan dunns are great too.
for me, the best way to learn was a class - it gave me the basic principles, so now im confident i can attempt most flowers.
probably could have just read it, but it would have taken longer.
and although the videos on you tube (look up toedna, very good!) are helpful i liked getting the help and attention as i went along.
you need to figure it out for your self what the best way for you to learn - try everything you can and it will stick!
