She was totally rude and is clearly jealous of your talent. Be proud of your work and know that the people who you give these cakes to appreciate you so much.

If I had made that cake I'd sit and look at the photo all day and pat myself on the back for what an incredibly good job I'd done! Well, not really but you know what I mean!

On a side note, I just loved reading your post and "hearing" your accent coming through. It's so much more interesting than any rant I would have posted.

After reading your post I went in to view your pics - and let me tell you every single one was awesome. Your work is excellent - loved them all. Try and remember all of the positive comments you have received (as I am sure there have been many) instead of this lady's negative comment.

Oh my gosh, this cake is adorable! It stinks when people say things, but you just have to push her aside and forget about it. Know that you're talented and make beautiful gifts that make people happy! I wonder what the cake would look like if she made it...

Holy sweet jesus, lady. I didn't read all the posts and I'm sure you got a lot of this.... but that cake is a-ma-zing. I would hire you based on that cake alone. It does NOT look "homemade" - don't let some cranky old lady get you down! And I would have charged at least $200 for it.

You definitely should feel insulted but after you've blown off some steam...put it behind you. If you don't, you are ALLOWING her to upset you...I'm sure she's not hurting or too stupid to realize she did a wrong.

Just the other day I was listening to a TV show my kids were watching on Sprout (they are all under 5). One girl in the show had her feelings hurt by some mean comments from someone (probably jealous). So she went to her teacher and told him about what had happened. The teacher told the girl that his comments only hurt if you think they are true. And since they are not true you don't have to listen to him.
I just thought of this when reading your post. You know your skill level and don't ever let anyone doubt yourself and think your cakes are not good enough. You know she is lying because that is not near a typical homemade cake. You know it's not true. She is the one with the issues so don't let her waste your time. You are not worth it!

OK, when I started reading your post, I was expecting to scroll down and see a newbie's version of a decorated cake.You know what I mean, the kind we all made when we first started.
As I scrolled down...My jaw dropped! That is a professionally done cake if I ever saw one! That lady is nuts.

That cake looks wayyy better than alot of cakes I've seen in shops around here! Like some repliers said its all ego-she's one of THOSE people And if she doesn't want to pay the price (which I think should be alot more than stated) then she can walk her lil fanny to a store and get something else.
