I am making a wedding cake in a couple of weeks and I was wondering how I can attach pearl dragees to the side of my fondant covered cake. For fondant decorations I usually use tylose with water but don't know if this will be strong enough to hold. I thought about royal icing but would rather not risk putting to much on and have my pearl just sink in the royal icing. I want the pearls to stay on during a curvy 3 mile travel. Anyone with ideas or suggestions???

RI will be fine if you just use a tad. IT doesn't take much to get it to stick to the cake. But I also believe the edible glue you mention should work as well.

See this thread for some other ideas on placing dragees...
