The sour cream frosting in that recipe is GREAT, but I have to double or triple it.
And with this one, I suppose if you just left the poppy seeds out...

I use the DH lemon box mix with a packet of lemon pudding & an extra egg. And for frosting, I use a basic buttercream with lots of lemon juice instead of vanilla flavoring. That combo is very "lemony" and sooooo good!
I don't have a good lemon cake recipe, but adding a bit of fine lemon zest and some lemon juice to SMBC make the most awesome lemon meringue buttercream ever! I could eat it with a spoon!!!
For a very easy and lemony cake I have substituted half of the water called for in a box yellow cake mix with fresh squeezed lemon juice plus the zest from 2 of the lemons in addition to the eggs oil and remaining water and it was really good and moist with a very bright lemon flavor. For the icing I would just add lemon zest to vanilla buttertcream or a cream cheese icing.
Lemon cake with a raspberry buttercream filling is just awesome. It's one of my best sellers
