Hope this doesn't sound too silly. I am going to make a tres leche cake today. It is for tomorrow, I assume that it will be fine to make a day ahead (have never made this before). I also have never made whipped cream before. Should I wait until tomorrow to make it? How long does it last before it starts to fall if you will? I don't know if I need to stabalize it (and if so how?!) to make it today and put on the cake, or am I best to wait till an hour or so before we serve the cake to do it?

Any help or advise would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

If you're just serving the whipped cream with the cake then I would wait until right before you serve the cake to whip the cream. It's much better after it's freshly whipped because over time it will deflate.
