How do I cover a football cake with Fondant? What is the easiest way?

Is it going to be a half ftball cake ontop of a another cake or is the entire cake a ftball? If half: roll out your fondant and lay it atop of the ftball and shape to form then decorate. But, if its a whole ftball cake then I myself, would cover one half ata time and then join them together with buttercream in the center. Oh yeah and if it is the entire cake then DON'T FORGET to cut a lil piece off of the one that going to be the botton. That way it will be able to stand a lil more sturdier. HTH
