Help! Making An Open Box & Need Help W/flaps

Okay, so I want to make a box that looks like it's open (see picture), but am unsure how I would do the flaps. (the middle would be cake, so it wouldn't be open with a giant hole in the middle and cake would be covered in fondant.) My thought was to make them out of a fondant/gum paste mixture and then attach them with melted chocolate. But, I'm not sure that it will stay on. If anyone has another suggestion, I would be grateful. Obviously, I'm not thinking out of the "box" on this one...Lol! I'm hoping that I'm making it clear as to what I'm trying to do. Thanks, in advance!!!

Instead of making just the flaps out of gumpaste, perhaps make each entire side from gumpaste. I think gluing each side to your fondant covered cake with melted chocolate would work.
