How did you approach the church (if you were not already affiliated with it)?

If you had to provide a written proposal, can you provide any tips or share the one that cinched the deal for you?

I'm going to start approaching some churches and would like to be able to at least act like I know what I'm doing! icon_biggrin.gif

The church I use I am the secretary at as well, so can't really give much help in the non-affiliation dept. But, if the church is really a rigid committee based church be prepared to have to make a presentation. Basically state what you are requesting, designate a dedicated day or days per week that you will use their facility. If you want to do it on an order by order basis, just make sure that you give the church ample time to place you on the schedule so you being in the kitchen doesn't interfere with any of their events that might be taking place.
