Someone wants a quote for a mobile telephone cake to serve 200 people. I have never done this and wouldn't know where to begin, is there any tutorials on this? Also, how can I make it a to serve 200 people. Its for a 50th birthday party.

to serve 200?? Wow, that's gotta be HUGE!

Here are some cell phone ideas from the gallery. I guess you'd have to do a full sheet cake-sized project for something that large!

She got back to me saying she wants an old fashioned telephone AND a mobile. I quoted her, to feed 200 people it would cost £210. How big do I have to make them and how much would you have charged?

Two sculpted cakes....each roughly to serve 100 slices? I'd have started the price at about $4-$5/slice at least! (Or that's about £2.45 - £3.00/slice in your currency, or about £490 - £600.) I don't know your market area, but I think you are generally charging way too low of a price.

That said....what are the measurements/layers of your slices? You'll just calculate how large of a cake(s) you need to make x 100 or 200 slices based on those portions, right?

My slices, for example, are about 1.5" x 2.5" double-layer filled portions. You have to make a pretty big sculpted cake to accommodate 100 - 200 slices.
