I have seen some of the fancy cupcake stores just putting one big blob of frosting on their cupcakes. Wondering if anyone knows how to do this? I thought maybe a #24 but you would still see lines. I also have seen it when it looks like a big star tip might have been used. If you go to this website http://cococakecupcakes.blogspot.com/ you will see what I am talking about. Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

I saw this technique on the new show "cupcake wars" on food network... you dont really need a tip, just an icing bag with the opening cut about 1" should be fine. Hold the bag close to the cupcake and squeeze until it starts to go out ward, then start to pull up to make a cut little tip.

It much easier to show in person then decribe it in words on here lol.

yes, I agree with caraleecupcake. I've done this before by just cutting the tip off of the icing bag. experiment a bit, you'll get it.
