Hi Everyone!

I have been searching around the forum and I have not seen anything similar to what I am asking. So if it is here I am sorry...
I understand about copyrighted images but what about designs ie. if you make a handbag cake that looks like a famous design or I have seen people make a dump truck cake that incorporates a design like Tonka or even if you were to make a cake that looks like a giant Hershey Bar (as was done on TV) do you need to get permission or is there something that lets you get away with making something "close" to the original?
I appreciate everyone on the site and thanks in advance for your help!

If you are giving it away you can make anything you want. My undersanding is that if you are selling it you can't make anything that is trademarked. Maybe someone with knowledge of more legal guidelines can answere here.
