Home Bakers...marketing To Bridal Shops/planners?

I'd love to get advice and/or stories about what marketing any of you licensed home bakers have done to your local bridal shops, florists and/or wedding planners??
I have a website, a facebook page, am listed on WeddingWire/Eventective, but I would like to approach local vendors with business cards and brochures? Have any of you done this and how has it worked for you??

Years ago, in a slow January, I made a bunch of 6" cakes, iced and boxed them up, and went on rounds handing out cakes and biz cards to florists and other wedding people. No one turns down a free cake!
Great idea - and they'll definitely remember the person who brought them cake!

I have been finding business to be very slow-in spite of delivering samples! It is frustrating.

I agree...that is an awesome idea! I may have to borrow that one once I become licensed.
