I did a cake on saturday that required ribbon around the boarders. I usually use royal icing as I was taught. But while standing in line at the craft store, I suddenly thought about the small velcro squares. I tried them and found them to work wonderfully. I will use them from now on to attach ribbon.

Do you stick one side of the velcro to the cake & then peel it off to serve?

No Renaejrk, I stuck one side on the outside of one end of the ribbon, and the other on the inside at the other end. Just like fastening the kids sneakers. I hope that makes sense.
