Is simple syrup what u spray on the cake to keep it moist or is it called something else?

you can spray it on each layer... or pour it on litely to keep layers moist.. if you think you need it.. frankly... i have never had to use it.. but lots of people on this site do.. most of the time.. they use it . afte they torte the layer.. before adding filling or just b/c... hth
