Hi. I used the ball 3D pan and made a ball out of rice krispy treats. Now, I have to cover the ball in fondant, but the texture of the treats are showing through the fondant.

How do I cover RKT with fondant? Should I do a thin layer of icing first? Or two layers of fondant?

I've read here that you can cover it with some buttercream to and smooth it out as much as possible before covering in fondant! Good luck! icon_biggrin.gif

The teapot in my photos was done exactly this way.....RKT in sportsball pan.

I "semi" crush my cereal before making the RKT, this helps to produce a smoother finish when covering with fondant.

I coat the piece with shortening first then put the fondant on. If we're eating the piece I coat it with butter cream instead of shortening.
