What do you think is a fair price for one on one cake design and decorating lessons?

Unless of course it's a one hour class and then about $65. Thats what I see them usually charge around here.

Just one lesson? How much time? What do you plan on covering?

I have people ask often about coming over to "learn how to cake decorate", but they are often missing the basics like baking in the right pans, making icing (as opposed to canned icing), etc.....

It seems to take a lot of time to prep for a class, so don't forget to take tht into account when figuring out your pricing.

A 3hr private class with Jo Ellen Simon (Certified Master Sugar Artist) is $60. Here's her website if you want to check out her classes and creditials. A friend and I plan on taking a few classes from her this year. http://simply-elegant-cakes.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1
