I am trying to make a tree cake and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to do this. I plan on making the base and the tree out of cake, but then the branches and leaves I'm having brain freeze. I want it to be a realistic looking tree.

Ooo that scares me, I have never worked with modeling chocolate. Does it melt under hot lights easily?

Someone on here suggested I use grape stems and dip them in melted choc. I used green wilton candy melts and it worked really well! However, it's more of a diorama tree look, which I was going for (see my tank cake photo) but you may not be. I used gumpaste/fondant for the tree trunk (supported by lollipop stick) , made a bit of a base out of the gumpaste/fondant and them covered the entire trunk/base with melted milk choc candy melts. Hid the base in the sand/dirt icon_smile.gif
