How To Achieve The "lid" On A Laptop Cake??

Okay.. so I'm doing a cake for my brother and my mother and I have decided on a laptop. My ducks are all in a row but I've yet to figure out a way to attach the "Lid" and make it so that it stands and is sturdy.
Anyone have any ideas? Experience? It's much appreciated!

I used foam board and covered it in fondant. I used royal icing to attach to my fondant covered cake. HTH
