I'm working on an idea for a gift cake for a close neighbor. It's going to be a small cake...he love chocolate and the University of Cincinnati Bearcats (local college team football/basketball)...the school's colors are black/red (white)

I'm planning on making a small cake in the flavor I know he likes. I want to do it in black with the 'new' eye of the bearcat image

I want to cover the cake in dark chocolate ganache so I don't have black buttercream covering people teeth. I want to put the 'eye' image on the cake, but don't want to put the design in buttercream over the ganache. Can I do it with chocolate on parchment paper, let it set up and then peel off and put on top of the ganache or will that look wierd or break easily?

Thanks for any suggestions!
