Could you do smaller, separate cakes for each person? Perhaps put them on three-tiered cake stands, the fourth cake can sit directly on the table.

You could also make cake stands out of bowls with plates on top of them. Then just have a display of a grouping of cakes. That way you could move each cake directly in front of the birthday person when you sing. Some people glue the plate to the bowl (or glass) onto the underside of the plate. I just set the bowl on the table, then set the plate on top. I've never done it with something slimmer than a bowl, so for that, you might need to glue it.

Absolutely...for mom who likes to sew you could do a sewing basket with decorations like threads, patches of fabric etc all made out of fondant or gumpaste...

the other 3 cakes seem to be fairly straight forward, barbie theme, transformers theme etc...

cant wait to see pic's icon_smile.gif

If you want to do just one cake, how about a square cake with one side for each person decorated acording to their interests and the top with the Happy Birthday Greetings to all of them or a sheet cake with the top divided into 4 parts each part being a page in Grandma"s scrapbook again each page dedicated and decorated to each birthday person's interests.
