I want to make a candle cake and read the threads on CC about them but they all gloss over how you make the wax drippings. Do you have a preference for using RI or melted chocolate? Should I just smear it all over the top of the cake (over the fondant?) and then let it drip down the sides? What consistency do you make the RI or chocolate? Do you add anything to the chocolate to make it a better consistency? Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi Lisa, I made a couple of candle cakes this Christmas and used white fondant cut out "dripping" down the sides. I will post my pics in a few minutes.
