Hi...

I just discovered that I had these. How do I use it to stack a cake. Do I need to put a dowel throught the pillar or insert the pillar directly in the cake. And how do I put the second cake on the top?

This is how they look :

Thanx in advance

Those pillars are used just like these push in pillars: http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?id=3E31469D-475A-BAC0-5B36A499A89FEA3B&fid=63EB9E14-475A-BAC0-520E6723DA1F2747

The rings are to make it look like the pillars are sitting on top of the cake. Slide the ring onto the pillar .... push the pillar into the cake .... slide the ring to the bottom of the pillar until the ring is resting on the cake surface.

No dowels are needed.

THe 2nd cake is on a cake plate. THe feet on the cake plate fit inside the tops of the pillars. Here's a how-to from the wilton site on how to assemble a cake using these pillars: http://www.wilton.com/cakes/tiered-cakes/push-in-tiered-cake-construction.cfm
