I am making a wedding cake on saturday and the bride wants me to use the Gold wrapping papper that she gives me (and not the one from wilton) to cover the board can i use wrapping paper will it bleed all over the cake Help
I use press and seal over wrapping paper... you cant really notice it is there and it sticks in place.
You can use the wrapping paper, but you'll need to protect it from the grease in the icing. Also, most colored wrapping papers have lead in the color.
I suggest that you cover it with clear Contact paper and then make sure that there is a barrier between that and the cake (the
Contact paper shouldn't come in direct contact with food). I do this by making sure that my tier is on it's own cake board.
I do this all of the time and it makes for an attractive cake board.
