HI,

I am making a drum cake like the one attached. I want the top (skin) to be black and the sides red. Do I have to cover the whole cake in black fondant and then wrap red around the sides? That seems like a lot of fondant. Any other ideas?

Thanks
LL

when I made a drum cake I covered the whole cake in the side color and then rolled out the top color very thin, cut the size of the top, let it dry a bit and then set it on top. HTH
