I am using a wood base for a 3D horsed cake. What can I use to cover the board to protect the cake or should I just use a cake board between the cake and wood?

TIA

Sarah

I'd just use my normal cake board.
I'd also clean the wooden base well with vinegar first (or bleach if you don't like vinegar.)

We use wood boards all the time over here & just cover them with the gold or silver foil paper you get from the cake decorating shops like this
