I want to make some display cakes to advertise in my local bridal stores. Has anyone ever done this before? What was the success fromit?

Im open to suggestions and how to get started and what to do and feedback from those who has ever done this. I want to start in January

I think it's a great idea. Just call or go and talk to the manager and get it worked out. You could take some of their business cards and refer your brides to them in exchange for your cake and cards sitting in their store.

I haven't...but if you are trying to drum up business, it's a great idea!!!

I have some dummy cakes in a couple of party rental stores, and I get a few referrals from it, but not a tremendous amount. The most valuable part of it is probaby getting to know the store owners, who can then recommend you personally.
